Abdulhafeez is from Lagos, Nigeria. He has an Associate in Metallurgical Engineering from Yaba College of Technology, Nigeria and received his BSc in Metallurgical and Materials Engineering from the University of Lagos, Nigeria, in 2018. After a year as a Graduate Assistant at the Federal University of Technology, Akure, Nigeria, during his National Service, Abdulhafeez went on to receive a Master’s in Materials Science and Engineering from Khalifa University in Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2022. Abdulhafeez joined the Escarra group as he started the PhD program at Tulane in the fall of 2023, and his current research focuses on metasurfaces. He enjoys spending time with family and friends, taking a walk, and playing football.
