The team’s efforts in the development of a hybrid solar energy converter, which generates both electricity and steam with high efficiency (up to 85%), continue with the relocation of our testbed from San Diego to New Orleans. As part of the pilot demonstration of our technology, this solar cogeneration system is now installed atop Tulane University’s Donna and Paul Flower Hall’s roof and is integrated into the building’s energy system, in partnership with Bernhard, Tulane’s energy-as-a-service provider. This milestone was featured in a Tulane Innovation Institute press release. Read all about it here. The work was undertaken in large part by an award-winning senior engineering physics capstone team!
