For the 2ndconsecutive year, the Escarra Group hosted seven middle school students from Paul Habans Charter School as part of the LightLab Summer Research Experience from 6/4/18 through 6/8/18. The LightLab program provides young scholars with the opportunity to work in a state-of-the-art research facility supporting the group with real photonics research projects. The visiting middle schoolers spent a whole week in the lab and were mentored by lab members at all times in small groups. They took part in original research and gained hands-on experience using various sophisticated tools. At the end of the week, they presented their research results to their peers, Habans teachers, and lab mentors.
