Dr. Kazi Islam and our team published a paper on large-area, high-specific-power 2D MoS2 based Schottky-junction photovoltaics. The work is the first to demonstration the use of large-area CVD grown MoS2 films as the main absorber in photovoltaic devices. Cells with 25 mm2 active area were characterized under 1 sun illumination and show a VOC of 210 mV without optimization. This illustrates the promise for scalable and practical use of 2D materials for photovoltaic applications, especially in weight- and space-constrained applications. Read all about it here.
