We are pleased to share that we have now undertaken several rounds of outdoor field testing of our transmissive CPV module prototypes with concentrated sunlight on the roof at the University of San Diego, one of our collaborators on the project. The module consists of triple-junction III-V solar cells in a spectrum splitting, transmissive geometry, mounted in front of a high temperature thermal receiver. The system is already utilizing the full solar spectrum to generate electricity and thermal energy simultaneously for extended duration (several hours) while tracking the sun. The initial test data are very promising, and we are using these results to continue to build better prototypes.
